The 2006 XFL preseason schedule fetaures four neutral-site games and a rematch of X-Bowl V between the Las Vegas Outlaws and the New York Hitmen, this time Giants Stadium will be the venue for the May 20 matchup.
FedEx Field in Landover, home of the NFL's Redskins, will play host to one of four neutral-site games as well as Stanford Stadium in Palo Alto, CA; Ohio Stadium in Columbus, OH; and Memorial Stadium in Champaign, IL. The Washington Glory will play in each of the above two games, "hosting" the Hitmen on May 6 and playing the Pittsburgh Ironmen in Columbus on May 20. The two teams played there in 2003 with the Ironmen winning 31-17. Champaign was host to the Chicago Enforcers, who "relocated" there for the 2002 season. They play the Seattle Reign May 20. Palo Alto, which was once host to a Super Bowl, will be the site of the San Francisco Demons-Memphis Maniax clash May 13.
The league had plans to bring neutral-site games back for the preseason, as they played just one in 2005, with the Vipers beating the Xtreme 38-28 at PGE Park in Portland in week three of the 2005 preseason.
