1. San Francisco(7-1): Looks like the only one who may been affected by the bye was Evan McPherson, who missed two field goals. Other than that, the 35 against St. Louis remains their low (as well as their lone non-40 burger) during their seven-gamer.
2. Kansas City(7-2): Putting Teair Tart into the starting lineup not only held Jonathan Taylor in check but also for one night transformed the Monarchs into the wrecking machine of 2020 that had a league-leading 51 sacks.
3. Columbus(6-2): It might be an afternoon game in the Windy City, but this will tell whether the Capitols are ready for prime time.
4. Carolina(5-3): It's fair to say Kevin O'Connell might be facing a few questions this week over the lack of Gus Edwards, both on the goal line and in general.
5. Chicago(5-3): The Enforcers will still have plenty of games to go after this latest Chi-town Rumble, but any chance of winning the Liberty basically rests on this one.
6. Los Angeles(4-4): With the red-hots from San Francisco coming in this really wasn't the time for the X-Men to go cold.
7. San Antonio(4-4): All the sudden the Stampede have everything in front of them with that win over the Xtreme banked.
8. Orlando(4-5): If the Rage are to make a run at the playoffs, it isn't just taking care of business against the should-wins, they'll need to pick off either of the Carolina/Chicago roadies (or possibly both).
9. St. Louis(4-5): With a three-gamer of Columbus, the Monarchs return visit, and Chicago after the bye, hard not to see the Domers falling to 4-8.
10. Washington(4-5): Going to Bailey Zappe over the bye week would seem a slight overreaction, but a game the Glory had a chance to get to 5-4 and instead were down 37-7 at one point isn't. Getting blown out at home by the best team in the league is one thing, being done by a mid-at-best one is another.
11. Tampa Bay(4-5): In a season of the venerable all-time champion (Case Keenum) and the Kyles (Lauletta and Trask) it's Drew Lock who has just the one interception.
12. Seattle(3-5): Brian Hoyer looks done and Jordan Ta'amu is too inconsistent to make 'Ta'amu time' into a thing yet, but a healthy Chase Brown/Jamaal Williams duo might be able to keep the Reign respectable for the time being.
13. New York(3-5): Garrett Gilbert's return to Seattle looks like the Hitmen's last stand.
14. San Diego(3-5): The Mission somewhat rendered Kyle Lauletta useless a few weeks back, and still lost by 31. This doesn't portend well for their get-together with the other Kyle.
15. Dallas(3-5): A new (interim) coach, a bye week refresher, and opponent coming in with the wildcard lead who just happens to be your in-state rival sounds like a recipe for an upset. Now will it be Luis Perez or Shane Buechele at the controls?
16. Birmingham(1-8): Well as season two is about ready to be written off the Bolts at least appear to be tackling the big issue, whether Malik Cunningham should stay at quarterback or be moved to wide receiver.
