1. San Francisco(8-1): Perhaps the most impressive part of their now eight-gamer is that they've actually started from behind in half of them.
2. Kansas City(7-2): It isn't too often that the Monarchs find themselves in this position at this point of the season, but it is what it is.
3. Carolina(6-3): Strength of opposition aside was going without Tee Higgins on Sunday a glimpse of what could happen this summer?
4. Chicago(6-3): The Enforcers kept the Liberty in their sights and will be favorites in their next three before the rematch in Raleigh. But the more-inexplicable-by-the-day Seattle loss (and a nagging Rex Ryan) will remind the Enforcers they really haven't done anything yet.
5. Columbus(6-3): The Capitols should easily get to at least ten wins with their remaining schedule but hard not to have serious questions about the defense especially with San Francisco and Carolina still to come.
6. Los Angeles(4-5): Another team with an inexplicable home loss to Seattle on their resume finds themselves heading across the country (Tampa Bay, Washington) for a pair of must-wins.
7. Orlando(4-5): And of course the Rage start their final seven-game stretch in Carolina, at least they come off a bye week.
8. St. Louis(4-5): Jarrett Stidham looked rather pedestrian in his last three headed into the bye, can he rediscover the fire of his first six games especially with the Capitols coming off another woeful defensive outing?
9. San Antonio(4-5): Well the Stamps had everything in front of them anyway, now what they have in front of them is Gardner Minshew with three 300-yard games in the last four. They do get J.C. Jackson and Mecole Hardman back, will it help?
10. Washington(4-5): Thanks to the Tampa Bay debacle before the bye week, the Glory kick off somewhat of an elimination gauntlet in New York, where guess-who is waiting.
11. Tampa Bay(4-5): The consecutive wins going into the bye has the Sharks playing with house money, Todd Haley wouldn't mind turning that into real money down the stretch.
12. New York(4-5): The "last stand" brought new life, now if the Ron Rivera Bowl didn't have enough surrounding it..........
13. Dallas(4-5): The conference being what it is, the Lonestars just jumped right back into the playoff picture, now here's a date with the Demons for your efforts.
14. Seattle(3-6): They tried (and nearly pulled it off) to run it all the way to a win. Now the 'Nix for Nix/Porous for Penix' campaigns should be full speed ahead.
15. San Diego(3-6): With Malik Willis perhaps in the dreaded 'the game's too fast for him (h/t Willie Beamen)' territory and in need of a potential sit-down, just Eric Bieniemy's luck that Jaren Hall may have suffered a concussion on the last play against Carolina.
16. Birmingham(1-8): Ah yes, the irresistible force (Monarchs) vs. the movable object (Bolts). But hey, Malik Cunningham, who if active would be so for only the second time this season, is sure to make all the difference.
