KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (April 23, 2006) -- Detroit Mustangs running back Cedric Houston was injured in a one-car accident late Friday night.
He was taken to the University of Tennessee Medical Center where he was treated for injuries that were not considered life threatening and released.
The former Tennessee standout was a passenger in a car that went up an embankment on a rural stretch of Interstate 40, about 50 miles west of Knoxville, and hit a tree stump, Tennessee Highway Patrol officials told Knoxville television station WATE.
Charges were not immediately filed against the driver.
The Mustangs would not comment on Houston's injuries because he has yet to be examined by a team doctor. Also no word on Houston's status with training camp opening for the Mustangs this week.

Dallas Vipers wideout Jerome Mathis was involved in a motorcycle accident over the weekend, but was not injured seriously. He suffered cuts on his arms and is wearing bandages that are supposed to come off this week
This may affect the 2005 first-rounder's status as the #2 receiver. Mathis is also penciled to return kickoffs along with all-XFL returner Will Pettis
