Raleigh, NC- Following the Colonels season ending upset loss to the Washington Glory, the usual members of the press filed into the press room at Carter-Finley Stadium. They expected to meet with Coach Chow and several Carolina players. Once all of the media entered the room, Colonels Director of Media Relations, Rick Jones made the following statement: "I regret to inform you that the press conference scheduled for today has been canceled. Also, the media will not be allowed to enter the locker room for interviews either. The Colonels will hold a season ending press conference tomorrow at 1 in this very room. Any and all questions will have to wait till then."
While this struck many members of the press as odd, the theories behind the move soon began to spread across the room. It has been poorly kept secret in Raleigh that less than two weeks ago Carolina Colonels owner Daniel Casey informed Head Coach Norm Chow that his position with the organization was perilous condition. With the team finishing the year with two losses to division opponents, and another losing season, it seems very possible that Norm Chow has coached his last game in the XFL. Stay tuned tomorrow, as the press conference will be carried live on News 14 Carolina, and WPTF-680.
