1. San Francisco-Kyle Lauletta, QB, Richmond
On the heels of Brad Kaaya being a pleasant surprise as a rookie for Mike Jones in Orlando, he once again turns to the draft for a future starter, though preferably he won't have to turn to him almost immediately.
2. Carolina-Brian Allen, C, Michigan State
This would make Carolina's reasoning for not taking Max Unger in the expansion draft make sense. Allen could come in and anchor from day one.
3. Las Vegas-Kenny Young, LB, UCLA
A highly-skilled middle linebacker who plays both pass and run well, filling a gaping hole that was much exploited in 2018
4. Orlando-Da'Shawn Hand, DE, Alabama
Kris Richard puts his stamp on the new defensive alignment as the Rage switch to a 4-3. Hand can play both outside and inside but will start off on the edge for now.
5. Washington-Nyheim Hines, RB, North Carolina State
Hines looks more to be Cameron Artis-Payne than the departing LeGarrette Blount, but Hines runs plenty tough despite his smaller frame.
6. Pittsburgh-Josh Sweat, DE, Florida State
A 4.53 40 skyrocketed him up draft boards and here he'll replace Aaron Lynch.
7. Los Angeles-DaeSean Hamilton, WR, Penn State
With Pierre Garcon and presumably Trent Taylor the starters in 2019 Hamilton will fit right into the slot.
8. Dallas-Dalton Schultz, TE, Stanford
Time will tell if letting promising Blake Jarwin go in the expansion draft was a bad move but Schultz here softens the blow with Ben Koyack coming off a career year but not likely to duplicate it
9. Los Angeles-Marquis Haynes, DE, Mississippi
The Xtreme were high on Sweat and with their second first rounder nab perhaps the second best pure speed rusher here with Haynes, who fits in perfectly as a rush linebacker.
10. San Antonio-Ian Thomas, TE, Indiana
With Ed Dickson headed out of the Alamo City the Stampede go back to the draft and land another pass catcher that they can pair with Jeremy Sprinkle.
11. Kansas City-Dorance Armstrong, DE, Kansas
This pick may be a little risky for a team that still isn't quite sure what they have with Charles Tapper, their first from two years ago. But the Monarchs said goodbye to Cliff Avril without getting one regular season snap from him, so they can afford it.
12. San Antonio-Anthony Averett, CB, Alabama
Following the Xtreme in the two first-round picks category, the Stampede would clearly like to upgrade on Jude Adjei-Barimah, who doesn't seem to be all the way back from a knee injury suffered during the 2017 season, and erstwhile "disaster in waiting" Justin Bethel, who was clearly exposed much too often.
