Xtreme 31 Lonestars 10 (Arlington, TX)
The Xtreme jumped out to a 14-0 lead and then ran away from the Lonestars in the second half after Kyle Allen exited with an ankle injury to ruin the Lonestars' home opener for the second straight year.
Josh Johnson threw three touchdown passes and Phillip Lindsay ran for 103 yards as the Xtreme begin the season with two dominant wins in Texas, this one coming off of a week of bitter cold that even featured record snowfall.
Allen is being called day-to-day after leaving on Dallas' first series in the third quarter. Brandon Silvers replaced him and went 13 of 30 for 104 yards. Devonta Freeman, who had a disastrous Lonestar debut in St. Louis last week, rushed 17 times for 80 yards and caught nine passes for 42 yards and a score, although he did fumble in the first quarter.
Lonestar DT Davon Godchaux also left in third quarter with a torn bicep.

Hitmen 26 Stampede 23 (East Rutherford, NJ)
Graham Gano kicked a 54-yard go-ahead field goal with 1:53 left and Ben Heeney stopped Jalen Hurts short of a first down less than a minute later to give the Hitmen the win in their home opener over the Stampede.
The showdown between the top two picks in last summer's XFL draft clearly went to J.K. Dobbins, who rushed 15 times for 87 yards and a touchdown and also caught six passes for 72 yards while Hurts, while not turning the ball.over, was just 15 of 30 for 217 yards and a touchdown pass.
In a field goal-dominated affair both teams scored on returns: Mecole Hardman returned a punt 85 yards for the first San Antonio score of the day, and Rod Smith took a kickoff back 99 yards for a score late in the first half. Gano hit four field goals for the second straight week and has a league-leading eight to begin the season.
The Stampede, now losers of 21 of 24 since starting the 2019 season 8-2, were just 1 of 10 on third down to add to their misery.

Glory 28 Rage 27(OT) (Washington, D.C.)
For the second straight game to open the season the Orlando Rage went to overtime but this time didn't come out with the win as Brad Kaaya was stopped short of the endzone on a potential game-winning two-point conversion with 3:15 left.
Much as Orlando benefited from good luck a week ago against Carolina the Glory did as well here. Michael Badgley, who hit the game-winner against the Colonels, missed all three of his field goal attempts, including one that was blocked by Elijah Campbell and run back by Brandon Bell 67 yards for a touchdown with 1:47 left, tying the game at 21 instead of giving Orlando a ten-point lead. It wasn't all good though, as Dustin Hopkins missed both of his as well. Also Dede Westbrook tore his ACL and will miss the rest of the season.
Brad Kaaya threw for 414 yards and four touchdowns, nearly pushing it in for the game-winner but was ruled short of the goal line and upheld by replay. The story of the day however was Cardale Jones, who rebounded from a horrible outing at Kansas City in his Glory debut to go 22 of 36 for 262 yards and two touchdowns against his former team.

Monarchs 20 Colonels 16 (Raleigh, NC)
For the second straight week the defending two-time champion Kansas City Monarchs, perhaps feeling the effects of trying to keep one of professional football's longest winning streaks going, were behind the eight-ball late in the first half, this time down 16-0 in a hostile environment, but also for the second straight week flipped the tables and scored the final 20 points in rallying for the win--their 34th straight since the start of the 2019 season, spoiling Kevin O'Connell's home head coaching debut.
The Kansas City run game, almost non-existent against Washington in week one, returned to the tune of 130 yards, with David Montgomery rushing for 78 on 14 carries and Salvon Ahmed rushing for what would prove to be the game-winning score with 12:30 left. Case Keenum threw for just 179 yards a week after putting on a passing clinic against the Glory.
Jordan Howard ran for 129 yards, although most of it came on a 92-yard touchdown run early in the second quarter as the Colonels built up the big lead. Luke Falk was 30 of 48 for 265 yards.

Enforcers 33 Sharks 26 (Chicago, IL)
Corey Clement returned two kickoffs for touchdowns and Gardner Minshew threw the go-ahead 51-yard touchdown pass to Golden Tate with 1:54 left. The Enforcers then clinched the victory on an interception by Troy Dye as Chicago beat Tampa Bay in their home opener.
Once again the Enforcers were lackluster offensively with Minshew going just 14 of 28 for 170 yards and Josh Adams rushing 19 times for 68 yards, three of their four touchdowns were scored by special teams (Clement) or the defense (Rashaan Melvin had a 42-yard pick-six). D'Andre Swift had three touchdowns himself for Tampa Bay, with one rushing and two receiving (on eight catches for 149 yards).
Drew Lock finished with 368 yards passing and two touchdowns, but also two picks. His four interceptions lead the league through two games.

Stallions 24 Demons 21 (Palo Alto, CA)
Brian Hoyer threw the go-ahead touchdown pass to Willie Snead, and Giorgio Tavecchio missed the game-tying field goal as time expired as the St. Louis Stallions picked up their first win of the season.
St. Louis overcame a 14-3 deficit and an absent running game as Hoyer picked up the slack by throwing for 395 yards on 29 of 50 passing. Keke Coutee was the main beneficiary, catching nine passes for 168 yards. St. Louis scored the final 14 points after Kyle Lauletta's eight-yard touchdown pass to Levine Toilolo put the Demons up 21-10 with 1:15 left until halftime. San Francisco got their run game going to the tune of 208 yards, including 150 on 21 carries by Brian Hill. But the Stallions were able to get back in the game in the second half as the Demons ran up eight penalties and were just 3 of 11 on third down, Lauletta was just 13 of 29 throwing the ball.
Demons DT Matt Ioannidis left with a torn bicep.
